Oh, have you heard of the new craze sweeping Gemlandia? Booster Battles are a fun and fast way to get into some wacky gem-blending action, and all it requires is a booster pack and some gems! Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Find a friend to play with. Or an acquaintance. I guess an enemy would work, too. Heck, go ahead and grab the nearest person, regardless of familiarity. Are you at a game store? Maybe the cashier has a minute, go ask them.
Step 2: Each player opens a booster pack of Gem Blenders – don’t look at the cards yet!
Step 3: Each player carefully removes the last 3 cards and looks at them. Whoever has the hero token with the lowest LV, or QWERTY fact with the lowest number, goes first. (Example: if player 1 had a LV 4 hero, but player 2 has QWERTY fact no. 3, then player 2 will go first)
Step 4: Each player adds 10 basic gems to the remaining cards in their booster pack and shuffles. It does not matter what types the gems are.
Step 5: Each player places facedown their 4 starting heroes, using hero tokens (following normal hero token restrictions of only 1 hero token per LV) as well as the hero they opened from the booster pack.
Step 6: Each player draws 7 cards and begins a game of Gem Blenders, with the following rules:
- No mulligans
- 10 HP per round
- Gems are wild
- The loser is banished to the shadow realm for all eternity
NOTE: It is possible you will get a really good or really bad pack of gem blenders, and will win or lose quickly and easily, in a completely unfair way. I have news for you: If you want balanced and competitive games, you’ve come to the wrong place. Booster battles are for quick, casual, goofy fun!
